Hugh C. Becker Grant Recipients
The Hugh C. Becker Grant Committee of the Twin Cities Chapter of Muskies, Inc. is pleased to announce the recipients of grants for 2024. With these awards, the total of benefits issued since the beginning of the program in 2008 will be <$2,250,000.00. The order of funding dates for 2024, with amounts totaling $112,000.00 not including carryover of funds of $10,000.00 (Twin Cities-stocking); $9,000.00 (Nittany Lions-stocking); and $1,132.49 (Spartan Anglers-youth) are:
- To support the Headwaters Chapter of Muskies, Inc. #12 with their youth activity programs in 2024.
February … $2,000.00 - To provide pit-tag research assistance for the Headwaters Chapter of Muskies, Inc. #12 for their local projects in 2024.
February … $2,500.00 - To provide pit-tag research assistance for the Mid-Iowa Muskies Chapter of Muskies, Inc. #35 for their local projects in 2024.
February … $3,500.00 - To support the First Wisconsin Chapter of Muskies, Inc. #6 with their Lake Wissota habitat restoration.
February … $1,000.00 - To support the Youth Heritage Outdoors (YHO) Minnesota State High School Muskie-Fishing Championship program for 2024 in coordination with the Muskies, Inc. Chapters in Minnesota.
February … $4,000.00 - For continued support for the Youth Conservation Alliance (YCA) for their youth fishing/education programs.
February … $5,000.00 - To support the muskie fishing programs of Fishing for Life with the Twin Cities Chapter of Muskies, Inc. #1.
February … $5,000.00 - To support the Wisconsin DNR (Spooner, WI) research study, by Dr. Colin Dassow and team, of the interaction of native Muskellunge and Northern Pike in the Spider Lake Chain of Lakes.
