Minnesota High School Muskie Tournament

The Minnesota High School Muskie Tournament will be held on August 13, 2021 at Vermilion Dam Lodge, Lake Vermilion.  Muskies, Inc. chapters throughout the state hold qualifying events. The top two teams in each qualifying event will compete in the final tournament in August.
 
TWIN CITIES CHAPTER QUALIFIERS

The Twin Cities chapter is holding two qualifiers this year. The Twin Cities chapter qualifiers are open to any students in grades 6-12 in the 2020-2021 school year, however, 6th and 7th grade students are not eligible to qualify for the state tournament in August. Each team is comprised of 2 youth participants and one adult boat captain. Top two teams from grades 8-12 qualify for state tournament. 
 
The first Twin Cities chapter qualifier is an in-person event on Lake Waconia Monday, June 14 from 6am to 1pm. The second qualifier will be a virtual event on metro-area lakes held the week of June 19-27. During the virtual qualifier, students can choose any 2 days within the week to fish and will register fish caught using the Fish Donkey app.

STATEWIDE QUALIFIERS

Students in grades 8-12 (or in 8th grade next school year) may also participate in the Minnesota Youth Muskie Tournament Trail run by Youth Heritage Outdoors to qualify for the August tournament.  The top two teams from each of the three statewide MN YMTT week-long virtual events will qualify. The three statewide MN YMTT virtual qualifiers are scheduled for June 5-13, July 1-11, and July 16-25. The format for these three qualifiers will be the same as the Twin Cities virtual qualifier.
