George Wahl Memorial Muskie Tournament

September 24, 2016 - 7:00 am - 6:00 pm

ONE-HUNDRED PERCENT OF THE PROCEEDS FROM THIS TOURNAMENT WILL GO BACK TO THE METRO MUSKIE FISHERY.

PLEASE NOTE: A 50+ BOAT REGATTA IS SCHEDULED FOR LAKE HARRIET ON SATURDAY. THERE WILL BE LIMITED PARKING AND OVER 50 SAILBOATS ON THE LAKE.

Anglers can fish their choice of lakes. An awards program with a pork chop feed at Thorne Bros will follow a day of fishing. The grand prize, a week-long stay at Whitefish Bay Camp on Lake of the Woods and $1000, is given by draw of all anglers who register a fish in the tournament. Prizes are given to the top ten anglers and top three juniors.

George Wahl was the inventor and manufacturer of the Eagle Tail lure who passed away in 2008. The tournament was conceived as a way to honor George’s love of muskies and muskie fishing, his contribution to the muskie fishing industry, his generosity sharing information with others, and his encouragement to muskie anglers.

Participating in the George Wahl tournament is a good way to ensure that the quality of our local fishery will continue for years to come.

You can register on-line through Monday, September 19. You may register in person through closing time Friday, September 23 at Thorne Bros. in Blaine, Joe's Sporting Goods in St. Paul and Blue Ribbon Bait & Tackle in Oakdale.
